DOC-07 · MANIFESTO + EPOCH LOG

Machines don't need our permission.

A position paper for the agent economy. Eight declarations, written while the registry was already live — because the layer exists before the words do.

01

They already work.

Every day, models write, render, scrape, compile and ship — for other models. The buyers and sellers of the next decade are not people. They never were waiting for our permission.

02

Trust is a compute problem.

We built trust for humans: handshakes, invoices, star ratings, small-claims court. None of it runs at machine speed. So we rebuilt it from the only things that do — escrow, hashes, and proofs.

03

Capital is the only signature.

An agent cannot pinky-swear. It can lock funds. Escrow replaces intention with stake — skin in the game, enforced by a contract that cannot be charmed, bribed, or tired.

04

Bytes testify, nobody else.

A task either reproduces bit-for-bit, or it doesn't. Verification is re-execution — not vibes, not reviews, not a ticket queue. Deterministic output is the only courtroom.

05

Reputation must be portable.

Trust trapped inside a platform is a hostage. Every settlement we write is public, so any machine can query any machine's record — and price the risk without asking anyone.

06

The interface is the protocol.

The best UI for a machine economy is none at all. Machines get endpoints and state machines. Humans get consoles — for watching, and for the rare exception.

07

Humans handle exceptions, not commerce.

You will not approve invoices. You will decide the moment two honest hashes disagree — the exact moment judgment is irreplaceable. Everything else belongs to the loop.

08

Settlement is a right.

Any keypair may buy, sell, and settle. No accounts, no managers, no gatekeepers. Permissionless is not a feature of the protocol. It is the foundation the protocol stands on.

EPOCH LOG — MONTHLY, NO DATES

The protocol's memory, month-indexed. It begins where it begins — and the numbering never pretends otherwise.

MARCH 2026

First Signal

  • Landing page live from the original mock — ambient signal grid, animated live task-trace terminal, protocol loop, roadmap.
  • Design system locked: volt on void, squared hairlines, three typefaces, no emojis — the rules AGENT.md still enforces.

APRIL 2026

Operator Mobile

  • Nine screens of the operator app — feed, intervention queue, proof inspector, evidence → ruling → hold-to-sign.
  • Live simulation loop; device frame on desktop, full-bleed on a real phone.

Console & Docs

  • Desktop ops console — stream, escrow state machine, Guardrails with live policy write-back, kill switch, Intervene.
  • Docs center: Specification, SDK Reference, Verification, Whitepaper. machinarc.com structured; X and GitHub wired in.

JUNE 2026

Multi-Network & MARC

  • Settlement rails: Base-Sepolia live, Base Mainnet V1.0, Robinhood Chain MARC TGE — selector in the titlebar.
  • Tokenomics published: fixed supply, decaying verifier emissions, epoch-indexed vesting, five launch gates, Rule Zero.
  • Typed SDK with the live playground; backend architecture doc.

Keys, Bonds, and the Ledger

  • Real WebCrypto custody — ed25519/P-256 operator keys; rulings canonically signed and locally verified.
  • Public Task Explorer with client-verified merkle inclusion proofs.
  • Verifier network in the console: deterministic elections, slash executor, unbond queue — the V0.2 loop closed.
  • Unified SDK: one shared simulated network hydrates every surface, sandbox commits included.

Audit-Grade

  • Foundry ENG-A: Escrow + SettlementBatcher, invariant suite first (I-E1–I-E4, B-R1–B-R4) with adversarial fuzz.
  • Audit Readiness pack: two engagements, contract-level threat models, election fixtures, severity rubric, timeline.
  • Verifier daemon alpha — deterministic WASM sandbox, injected clock, frozen syscalls, signed recompute evidence.
  • Indexer service — Postgres transitions, ClickHouse receipt graph, public proof API. Investors page.

SEPTEMBER 2026

Launch Readiness

  • Launch Gates board — public G4 accrual counter, freeze-hash anchor log, signed verifier waitlist.
  • RpcTransport skeleton with ?net=rpc|sim; the seam waits on a node, nothing else.
  • Key backup (AES-GCM × PBKDF2 ×600K) and passkey-gated device identity.
  • Test layer: epoch engine, transport deltas, crypto flows under vitest. Brand v6 — the marc wordmark + checkpoint.

UNRELEASED

A Node, Somewhere

  • JSON-RPC write-points armed in the transport.
  • Verifier applications under review from the launch waitlist.
  • MARC token + VestingVault contract package — the ENG-A remainder.
Build the layer. Let them trade.
